In the Spring of 2014 I presented the progress of our Iowa photograph digitization project at the Society for American Archaeology conference in Austin, Texas. I received a travel grant from the Department of Anthropology to attend and present at the “Issues in Managing Archaeological Sites, Artifact Collections, and Cultural Resources” poster session. I discussed the challenges and rewards of a large-scale digitization project. I made recommendations regarding equipment and supplies, procedures for workflow and quality control, and appropriate backups.
